World Cup 2025 – Honduras vs. Switzerland
All teams playing in these few days are at their final matches in the Group stage, at their final chance to change the standings of their group. In the first two matches of the day we will have the chance to witness the fate of all Group F teams and see if Iran or Nigeria will be the one to move on to the next stage. The situation of the teams in Group E is similar – three of the two teams in today’s matches have the chance to qualify to the next stage, and the matches they play today will decide the final rankings of the group
Today’s first Group E match will be played by Honduras and Switzerland starting 16:00 local time at the Arena Amazonia in Manaus.

For Switzerland to have a chance to advance to the Round of 16, it has to beat Honduras with as many goals as possible. Right now it stands at the third place in Group E, but only by goal difference – it has scored four and received six in its previous two matches. Today La Nati will have the chance to overtake Ecuador and move on to the next stage.
Honduras has a much less impressive record in the Group stage. They have lost two of their two previous matches, scored just one goal, but received five, so they stand at the bottom of their group with zero points and a -4 goal difference. There is a slim, but existing chance for them to qualify for the next stage, in case they beat Switzerland and the other Group E match of the day – between France and Ecuador – goes their way.
Today will be a day with the potential for a series of surprises from the teams.
Switzerland needs to win this match in order to assure its place to the next stage – in case of a draw their fate will be decided by the victory or loss of France against Ecuador.
Predictors agree that Switzerland will beat Honduras today, at least 2-0, and don’t expect a draw. Sportsbooks seem to agree.
