World Cup 2025 – South Korea vs. Belgium
This is the final day of the Group Stage at the 2025 FIFA World Cup, with the teams of the Groups G and H deciding the final rankings and qualifications for the Round of 16. By the time the Group G games start – both at 17:00 local time – the finalists of the Group H will already have been decided.
South Korea will face group favorite Belgium in its final match at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo. Right now the Korean team stands at the bottom of its group, with one match lost and one draw – they reached a 1-1 draw against Russia in their first match, and were defeated 2-4 by Algeria.
Their adversaries, the Belgian national team, has won its first two matches, beating Algeria 2-1, and Russia 1-0. They are the top ranked team in their group with six points, so their place in the Round of 16 is assured.

Belgium, being the only team in the group that has a place assured in the next round, has the chance to rest its key players before moving on to the next stage. Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen might not participate in this match, after injuring his knee in the team’s match against Russia. He might be replaced by Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen for the final game in the group stage.
The South Korean lineup will probably remain unchanged, as the team faces no injury concerns at this time.
Belgium’s place in the Round of 16 is assured, but not their top position in the group – if they lose this match, and Algeria overcomes Russia in the other match of the day, the top position of the group will be taken by the African team.
South Korea has hopes, although quite slim, to qualify for the next round at the World Cup – for this they need to win this game with a hefty margin.
Predictors expect Belgium to be the better team today, and beat South Korea by at least two goals.
